Rain delayed the start of the match by 25 minutes on the first day
Rain forced the players from the field after only 19 overs had been bowled
After the lunch break, the sun came out but there were several very wet areas around the pitch block and on previously used pitches
An early tea break was taken but it was still too wet to resume play and heavy rain later in the afternoon meant play was abandoned for the day at 5.50pm
Play did not start until 1pm on the second day due to the wet ground
The captains agreed to end the match over an hour before stumps were due once South Canterbury had gained the first innings lead
